Feria de Málaga

The annual feria in Malaga takes place each August and is a massive street celebration that turns the city on its head and attracts lots of visitors. The history behind the feria is the celebration of Isabella and Ferdinand winning back control of the city back in 1487 (source: andalucia.com).
The feria starts with an impressive firework show that is not to be missed, and in the following days the people of Malaga takes to the street and you often find that they dress in traditional clothing, which means you find the women in the colorful flamenco dresses. During day time the party is very much in the streets, with the marques de larios as the center of the party. In the evening and at night the party tends to move to the fairground where there is entertainment for all age groups, and the party goes on until the early morning hours.
